When I bought my 1988 Mustang GT, it had a few modifications that had been done by one of the previous owners. One of those mods included an “off-road” X pipe as part of an upgraded exhaust system. I was not a fan of the strong gasoline-ish smell from the car, that seemed to be a result of the car no longer having catalytic converters. Fortunately I was able to find a pair of Flowmaster high flow catalytic converters (cats) for a decent price. Last week I was finally able to have a shop weld them in.

The volume of the exhaust is noticeably quieter but it still sounds pretty good. Also, most of the gas smell appears to have gone away. I documented a bit more about that update in my latest video here:
