SVE Jack Pad Kit Review

I recently picked up the SVE Jack Pad kit from Late Model Restoration. It’s advertised as being intended for 1979-2020 Mustangs but I imagine it could be put to use on many other vehicles that have pinch welds. When I first started tinkering on my 2014 Mustang, I walked into probably half a dozen different hardware and auto parts shops asking for something like a jack pad (though I didn’t know it by that name) and nobody had a clue what I was talking about. I eventually found a rubber one online but it was a little too big for my old jack.

Eventually I upgraded to a bigger jack and the rubber jack pad fits pretty well with it.

This combination has worked well on my 2014 Mustang when I’ve needed it but the pinch welds on the Fox Mustang were in pretty bad shape. Here’s what the rear driver side looked like:

The SVE jack pad kit includes a pinch weld flange straightening tool, which was pretty helpful in addressing these sections of flattened pinch weld. Here’s what the flange tool looks like:

The nice thing about the jack pads in the kit is that they appear to be really well made and they also have magnets. Here’s how the SVE jack pads look next to the larger rubber jack pad. I guess my only complaint is that they don’t make them in multiple sizes but I’m sure these will do fine for the foreseeable future.

Anyways, there are more details in my latest video, which you can check out here:

Thanks for reading and thanks for watching!
