As I mentioned in the most recent podcast episode, one of the many trips I took in the last couple of months was a long weekend in Toronto. I had visited Toronto as a kid but I couldn’t tell you anything about it. This was my first trip there as an adult and I’d heard many good things from friends who have spent time there. My overall impression was positive. It’s pretty clean for being such a large city and most of the folks we interacted with were polite and friendly. The weather was perfect. We had lots of good food and beer – in particular I really enjoyed the barbecue at Smoque N’ Bones, the giant beer steins and pretzels at Steamwhistle Brewery, and the buffalo chicken burrito at Fat Bastard Burrito Co. Other highlights of the trip included taking in a preseason Toronto Maple Leafs game at Scotia Bank Arena, axe throwing at BATL, and a trip to the Hockey Hall of Fame. Anyways, here’s some photos from the trip.
- Those cheeky Canadians…

The Maple Leafs were victorious against the Buffalo Sabres

This was the building where we entered the Hockey Hall of Fame. Very cool

Hockey Hall of Fame – in the room with the Stanley Cup and a bunch of other famous hockey trophies that I know nothing about
And because I’m a huge car nerd, I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to do some car spotting in Toronto. There’s definitely some money in that city.

Lamborghini Huracán

Interesting color/wheel color combo. I can dig it

Lamborghini Murcielago

Aston Martin

Hellcat

First gen NSX
Even though they had some weird shit, like ketchup flavored potato chips and this creepy ass hot dog stand sign, Toronto is a cool city. I’d definitely go back.
